Over the last two days, we were blessed to have our two granddaughters stay with us. After they left last night, my wife commented that she knows why God gives children to younger adults to raise. They are truly a handful for two “old” people like us but are indeed a pleasure, and we would not trade those moments for anything.
God gives us many gifts throughout our lifetime. Raising children and finding the one person you want to spend the rest of your life with. All these blessings were given to us because the Father wants us to have a small glimpse of what it will be like when we are given the greatest gift of all. The day that is our final destination in this roller coaster ride called life.
Though the ride to this final destination will be filled with potholes, we should look forward to the ride. God will not give us anything we can’t handle if we keep the steering wheel pointed straight ahead and our eyes focused on the final destination.
The path to heaven will be filled with hills and curves with many sudden stops. Once there, the streets will be made of gold, and the voices of angels will be there to welcome us. With outstretched arms the Father will take us in, and whisper in our ear. “Welcome home precious one, welcome home.”
