The Discipline of the Father

The hardest part of being a parent is to punish them when they have done wrong. It seems at times that the punishment is harder on the giver than on the receiver.

But the greatest gift a parent can receive is when that child grows to be an adult and feel the pride of what they have become. Not a clone of themselves but their own person with their own thoughts and ambitions.

Just imagine the pride that our Father in Heaven is of his family, when He sees what we have become and we become a witness for others by out words and deeds.

The greatest gift we can receive is the knowledge that we will always be under his watch, and when we need a reality check he lovingly and freely gives it.

Like the son who wanders from home, and comes back broken and lost, he will be welcomed back with open arms and realizes that there is no place like home.
