Listen then wait!

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1

Mankind has lost the ability to communicate, we are so entranced in what we feel is right; we fail to listen to the other side. We are quick to judge, but slow to understand. My way or the highway seems to be today’s method of communication.

When God destroyed the tower of Babel and brought different languages into the world, he did it not to pull us apart but to bring us together. When speaking the same language we tend to talk through one another, not listening to the words but hearing the noise.

With the different languages we are forced to learn about one another, and not in one ear and out the other, because then it just becomes “gibberish”. We are forced to slow down our thought process and let the sentences sink in, to really understand what is being said.

Once we do that we are then speaking the language that God intended us to speak, “listen thoughtfully, understand, respond in kind”. That is the way the tower of trust is built back.

There will be disagreements, misunderstandings, that is human nature, the the language of love is to listen with our hearts first and last and speak those words that come from the place where it started.

Speak slowly, speak clearly, but most importantly speak with Love.
