My thoughts

When we were parents with young children, everything we did revolved around them. Where we ate, what we ate. The fun things we did had to be fun for them. Our whole lives they were the center of our attention. As they grew into teenagers they became more focused on their friends, and the activities they liked to do. Less focused on us. But our time was no less focused on them.

When they became adults everything changed. They moved away from home, developed their own relationships, and their own families. They moved on with their lives. While my wife and I were left with the question. What now?

Our relationship with God is not much different. As new believers, we devote all our attention to following his word, living each moment for him and through him. But, as we get “older” we become more wrapped up in our own lives, our desires, and our problems. Our relationship with God became less important, passing through our minds for only a fleeting moment.

But just as our children are for parents, we are at the top of God’s concerns, He knows all the pain and struggles that we are going through. He knows of our successes and our failures. He is right there with us every step of the way.

His only wish and desire are that we remember him during these times, good or bad. He is only a prayer away, and he will come running to us. With arms wide open. He can get to us much quicker because He is already by our side.

With God in our lives we will never ask the question. “What now”, because that question has already been answered.

God is only a prayer away

When we walk God runs

May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding be with you all.
